Sometimes it's just going wrong for a moment.
Other times things have been going in the wrong direction for a long time.
We're going to look at these dynamics and make specific plans for getting things back on track.

Everything we do signals and communicates information to our clients.
Since we're talking to both the personality and the organism we should have a good idea of what we're feeding back and why.
This workshop will lay that kind of thing out.

Twig's Demonstration-Clinic-Consult Day: What's this stuff look like in real-time anyway?
It's just theory until you can put it together and show that it works.
That's what this day for SE students and practitioners is about. Watching a seasoned practitioner going at his own pace and seeing how our theoretical elements come together in practice.

There's more to SE than just knowing the theory. We need to be able to communicate to the person who is sitting in front of us in such a way that everyone moves past theory and into the unchartered territory of involuntary behavior.
That is TRICKY.
This workshop looks at the dynamics around our language in relationship to facilitating sufficient safety; initiating, continuing and aiding completion of a somatic experiencing "investigation" and all the while PLAYS with our mouths and bodies so when the time comes to say our lines: we'll be fully ready.

Here's what I did: I took over 7 years of intensive involvement in the SE training along with extensive interaction with SE clients and practitioners worldwide and asked myself this question: "Why do some sessions work like magic and others simply flop?" And "How can the successes become more consistent?"
From there I set out to make a simple, step by step session protocol that SE people can immediately start using with their clients. It does this: puts to use all the very good - but sometimes "disjointed" - elements in their SE training, provides assessment tools at each step along the way, structures sessions for success and much more besides.
Check it out. I think you'll be glad you did.

It's a commonplace for clients and practitioners to be annoyed, even outraged, by an inability of the change process to move forward. Often times this is a result of an over-focus on expressions of "I Can't". Learning a bit about the psychobiology of this and "reverse engineering" the therapeutic process toward "I Can" will make your work more successful and enjoyable. Doesn't that sound like a good idea?

SE Marketing: How to introducing SE to prospective clients - Interweaving marketing & initial conditions
"How do I explain SE to clients?" is one of the most common questions I'm asked in my case consultations with Somatic Experiencing Practitioners.
More to the point is how do we explain our work AND have that explanation aid the therapeutic process at the same time? This workshop focuses on making our introductions a vital aspect of our "initial conditions" so our clients become invested in the process and get off to a good start.

New information in psychobiology and traumatology are changing what we know about the change process and offering new possibilities to "join with our nature" in a way that will aid human health and well-being.
Nothing out there is going to have more of an impact than the Polyvagal theory by Stephen Porges Ph.D. And it's really not nearly as complicated to understand as we sometimes think.

Help bring Twig to your community
Here are a few examples of how this has happened so far:
- A group of folks invite me to their city and ask for a certain subject
- A single coordinator makes a series of events happen
- An event is already happening and I'm invited to participate
- Some creative combination between me and someone like you
