Fee Forwarding
Assistance for people who express authentic financial need:
I try to do as much volunteer or pro bono work as I can. However, ultimately I must limit the number of sliding scale sessions I am able to offer at any given time. Within that, I do make a concerted effort not to turn anyone away for a lack of funds. Thus, when necessary financial negotiation for attending my workshops, receiving private sessions or consultations is always an option.
To maintain the integrity of my work and the investment of your participation I do require my "full fee" whether you can pay it monetarily or not. Thus for sliding scale clients I anticipate a "Fee Forwarding" of the non-cash portion of my fee.
Fee Forwarding* is a means by which a fee can be redirected from cash paid to me and turned instead toward service for others. For example, if a person can only pay me $60 cash for a private SE session they will make up the difference by offering an equivalent $65 of their services to others without charge or at a reduced rate. A bodyworker who has a session with me might then offer lower fee or pro bono work to someone in need equalling the remainder of my fee. A gardener might do the same, an artist, activist and so forth. To engage Fee Forwarding with me is to engage in a contract and I hold it as unsettled until the debt is repaid in kind. Reflections on where my Fee is likely to be Forwarded as well as notification after it is complete is anticipated.
*This version of Fee Forwarding should not be confused with the Fee Forwarding practice of lawyers which is proscribed by the American Bar Association.
